Barcelona

** = Best of all time!

Brunch

  • Can Dende: incredible french toast, waffle fries, mimosas

  • Milk Bar: favorite brunch place, in the Gothic Quarter. Great huevos rancheros and eggs benedict.

  • Picnic: really good pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict.

  • Flax & Kale: good weekend brunch and smoothies. Healthy.

Lunch/Dinner

  • Bo de B**: the most INCREDIBLE sandwich place in the WORLD!!! Very casual, 4 euro sandwiches

  • Sensi Gourmet Tapas: in gothic quarter, try the truffle risotto or black seafood paella!

  • Rosa Negra: good mexican food and drinks.

  • Da Greco: super cool Italian place that all the famous people go to. Students can bring their own wine!! It's hidden and you have to ring the doorbell to be let in. Super good but make a reservation in advance!

  • Quimet & Quimet: cold tapas

  • La Champaneria: champagne for 2 euros and good little appetizer sandwiches; definitely an experience…its always packed and everyone stands and eats

Bars

  • The Mint: mojito bar with super strong mojitos for only 4 euros each. My favorite!!!!! Rory and I went 3 times when he visited.

To do/Places to see

  • La Sagrada Familia: This is one thing you have to do and you'll LOVE it. Buy your ticket online and just bring the screenshot of the email with your phone. Incredible church built by Gaudi.

  • Park Güell: where everyone takes the classic tile photos. Anticlimactic but a Barcelona classic. Buy tickets online in advance as it sells out fast.

  • Bunkers del Carmel: buy wine and cheese and taxi up here to watch the sunset. Incredible views of the city!

  • La Boqueria: Amazing market on Las Ramblas (main shopping street) with cheap juices, snacks, etc.

  • Barcelona Cooking School: 4 course traditional Spanish meal. Super fun! They serve wine and we learned to make paella, gazpacho, tomato bread, etc.

  • Arc de Triomf/Cituadella Park: Barcelona’s biggest parks. It’s great to just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. If you walk around the weekend there’s plenty of locals playing music and spending time with their families. The entrance to the park is the Arc de Triumf which is exactly like the one in Paris.

  • Gothic Quarter/El Born: my favorite part of Barcelona. See the Cathedral and walk the streets and shop (they have tons of cute boutiques)
